The mission of RVIdaho.org is to be the most trusted, helpful, and comprehensive resource for RVing and camping in the Gem State. We are building upon the legacy of the original “RV IDAHO” directory, a publication trusted by travelers for decades, to create a modern resource that our community can rely on.
Our commitment to you is to provide information that is accurate, useful, and independent. These are the principles that guide our work.
1. Our Commitment to Accuracy
We believe that great travel planning starts with reliable information.
- Editorial Content: Our guides, itineraries, and “how-to” articles are based on thorough research from primary sources. This includes official land manager websites (Idaho State Parks, the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service), local experts, and, whenever possible, the firsthand experience of our writers and contributors.
- Directory Listings: We strive to keep our campground directory listings as accurate as possible. However, campground rates, amenities, and policies are subject to change without notice. We strongly encourage all travelers to call the campground or check its official reservation website directly to verify current information before making concrete plans.
- Boondocking Information: Our guides to dispersed and free camping are provided for informational purposes. Road conditions, stay limits, and local regulations can change rapidly. Users assume all responsibility for verifying that they are camping legally and safely.
2. Our Independence & Impartiality
To maintain your trust, our editorial content is not for sale. Our recommendations are based on our independent research and opinions. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive reviews or editorial coverage.
To fund the significant work of building and maintaining this free resource, we use two primary methods:
- Affiliate Links: Many of our articles contain affiliate links (e.g., for RV rentals, booking sites, or camping gear). If you click a link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This financial model allows us to keep our content free for everyone. The presence of an affiliate link never influences our editorial judgment or the products we recommend.
- Advertisements & Featured Listings: We clearly separate editorial content from paid advertising.
- Directory: Private campgrounds may purchase “Featured” or “Sponsored” placements in our directory to increase their visibility. This is an advertising product, similar to an ad in a print magazine, and is always clearly labeled.
- Articles: Any content produced in collaboration with a brand or tourism partner is clearly and conspicuously marked as “Sponsored” or “In Partnership With.”
Our writers and editors are not influenced by our advertising partners.
3. User-Generated Content
RVIdaho.org is a community. We rely on traveler-submitted reviews and comments to keep our information timely and reflective of real-world experiences.
The opinions expressed in user-generated content (such as campground reviews) belong solely to the individual user and do not represent the opinions of RVIdaho.org. We reserve the right to moderate all submissions to remove spam, hate speech, or content that is not relevant to the topic.
4. Corrections Policy
We are human, and we make mistakes. If you discover a factual error, an outdated price, a broken link, or a closed campground, we want to know.
Please visit our “Contact Us” page to send a correction. We will review the information, verify it, and update our content as quickly as possible.
We are passionate about Idaho and dedicated to building a resource that serves the RV community with honesty and integrity.
