Our Commitment to Accuracy
The mission of RVIdaho.org is to be the most accurate, useful, and up-to-date resource for RV and camping travel in the Gem State. We are building on the legacy of the original “RV IDAHO” directory, a resource trusted by travelers for decades.
We understand that you rely on our information to plan your adventures. Our team is committed to a “people-first” approach, which means providing content that is as factual, fresh, and helpful as possible.
However, the world of RV travel is constantly changing. Campground policies, amenity availability, operating hours, road conditions, and public land regulations are subject to frequent updates by their managing agencies.
Even the original “RV IDAHO” directory stated: “IRVCA cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of the information. YOU MUST CONTACT CAMPGROUNDS DIRECTLY…”.
While we strive for 100% accuracy at the time of publication, we acknowledge that errors will occur and information will become outdated. This policy outlines our fact-checking process and the method for our community to help us keep this resource current.
Our Fact-Checking Process
- Editorial & Guide Content: Our travel itineraries, boondocking guides, and resource articles are researched using primary sources, including the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the U.S. Forest Service, and other official tourism bodies.
- Campground Directory Listings: Our directory is a massive, ongoing project. Data points (like full hook-ups, max amps, dump station availability, etc.) are gathered from official park websites, direct contact, and other public data sources. We conduct periodic reviews to refresh this data.
- Boondocking Information: Details for dispersed camping, such as stay limits and road accessibility, are based on official land manager rules and supplemented by recent traveler reports. This information is particularly subject to change due to weather and policy updates.
Your Role: Our Corrections Process
We are building this resource for the community, and we depend on our community to help us maintain it. We welcome and encourage all readers to submit corrections.
If you see something, please say something.
You can help by reporting:
- A permanently closed campground or RV park.
- Inaccurate amenity information (e.g., “This park’s dump station is no longer available” or “This site now has Wi-Fi”).
- Incorrect pricing, fees, or reservation information.
- Broken website links or phone numbers.
- Changes in public land rules (e.g., new stay limits, “No Camping” signs in a previously dispersed area 8).
- Hazardous or inaccurate road/access descriptions for boondocking sites.
How to Submit a Correction
We have made the process simple. If you find an error on any page, please send an email to:
corrections@rvidaho.org
To help us verify and fix the error as quickly as possible, please include:
- The Page URL: Copy and paste the full web address of the page with the error.
- The Error: Clearly state what information is incorrect.
- The Correction: Provide the correct information.
- Your Source (Optional, but very helpful): Let us know how you know. (e.g., “I am the campground owner,” “I just called the ranger station,” “Here is a link to the new rule on the USFS website,” or “I am camping here right now.”).
What Happens Next?
- Review: Our editorial team will receive and review your submission.
- Verify: We will attempt to verify the correction using official sources or by contacting the relevant entity.
- Update: Once verified, we will update the website. We prioritize corrections related to traveler safety, site closures, or major access changes.
We are deeply grateful for your contributions. Thank you for helping us make RVIdaho.org the best possible resource for all “Gem State” adventurers.
